Select Print Setup or Print from the File menu of your application software. The Print or Print Setup dialog box appears. 4-18 Using the Printer Software 2. Make sure that your printer is selected and then click Printer, Setup, Properties, or Options. Accessing the printer driver from the Start menu To access the printer driver from the Start menu, follow these steps: 1. Printer driver settings overview Your printer driver has two menus: Page Setup and Advanced. The printer driver settings on each of these menus are described below. Page Setup menu 4-20 Using the Printer Software t Paper Size t Paper Source t Orientation Select the size of the paper you want to use from the Paper Size list. Select Portrait or Landscape. Advanced menu 4 Using the Printer Software 4-21 t Paper/Output Check the Paper Size, Orientation, and Paper Source settings you made on the Page Setup menu and change them if necessary. Select the setting and then choose an option from the Change Setting list box. Select Resolution and then choose the printing resolution from the Change Setting list box. The higher the resolution you select, the more detailed your printout will be; however, increasing the resolution slows printing. Double-click Halftone Color Adjustment to open the Halftone Color Adjustment dialog box. Click Print Text as Graphics or Metafile Spooling and select On or Off in the Change Setting list box. If you turn on High Speed, you will enter bi-directional printing mode and printing speed will increase. Turning High Speed off will return the printer to uni-directional printing mode. Default printing uses the settings stored in the printer. t Graphic t Document Options t Print quality 4-22 Using the Printer Software Once you've checked your printer driver settings and changed them if necessary, you are ready to print with continuous paper as described in Chapter 2, or with single sheets as described in Chapter 3. Utility menu To use the utilities, click the Utility tab in the printer software window, then click the button for the utility you want to use.
