These modes function as follows. DIAG1: Switch Echo Test Pressing any button causes testing of portions of the control panel and frame electronics and software. A successful result causes the lamp or LED in the button pressed to illuminate. Enter this mode by pressing MODIFY and then the DIAG1 button on the KEY bus. Press MODIFY again to escape from the test and return to normal operation. DIAG2: Lamp Test In this mode, each lamp and LED on the control panel should illuminate in sequence. At the end of one complete cycle through the lights, the switcher will automatically exit this mode and return to normal operation. Enter this mode by pressing MODIFY and then the DIAG2 button on the KEY bus. The test can be abandoned before completion by pressing the MODIFY button a second time. FS00 Installation Manual 5-3 Optional Set Up Modes SYSTEM SET UP AND TIMING Optional Set Up Modes If the switcher is equipped with "Feature Package 1", the MODIFY button provides access to many set up modes and alternate programmable modes of operation. These alternate modes are used to configure the switcher to adapt to peripheral equipment and to customize switcher operation. These modes are factory-set to certain default states; a listing of these default states is given below. When installing the switcher, it is not necessary to do any initial setting of alternate modes to make the switcher operational. To avoid resetting, press the MODIFY button again after entering this mode. To deliberately reset to default states: 1) Press MODIFY, INIT, and then button 4 on the PST bus. The Auto Transition readout displays "OPd" (option default). 2) Press the units SET button in the Auto Transition module to perform a reset to default states. The Auto Transition display changes to "CLS" (clear system), indicating that a reset to default states has been done. To select the alternate mode INIT - Default All Parameters: 4) Press the MODIFY button. The switching interval is set and displayed in the Auto Transition frames readout. This mode saves repeatedly pressing the CUT button and is a very useful feature when checking timing of video inputs. BKGND (only) must be selected in the MLE Transition module and the fader must be on a limit for the crosspoints to toggle. The switching interval is a variable from 1 to 999 frames (the initialized default is 40 frames), changed by pressing the "SET" buttons in the Auto Transition module. While the switcher is in this mode, all features of the switcher are accessible except: CUT and AUTO TRANS in the MLE Transition module, CUT and AUTO DISSOLVE in the Downstream Keyer module, and PGM FADE. [. . . ] Rotate the SOFT control from limit to limit, then fully counter-clockwise. Watching the P/V monitor, adjust the KEY HUE (& S/S BORDER) and LEVEL controls until the white COLOR BKGND signal from the PST bus replaces the backing color of the chroma key video. e) Any error in chroma key timing will appear as a dark line to the left or right of the chroma key object. Not enough delay causes a line to the left; too much delay produces a line to the right. [. . . ]
