[. . . ] SYS-LINK Fitting Instructions (AP2664) SYS-LINK Application notes (AP2665) · TOOLS REQUIRED : SOLDERING IRON with small tip SOLDER LONG NOSE 1pt CROSS POINT 2 GL3000 & YM62A SYS-LINK OPTION FOSSIL Z PRELIMINARY: To fit the SYS-LINK option it is necessary to partially remove GROUP 1 circuit board assembly to enable access to the SYS-LINK solder pads. It is not necessary to remove any other circuit board assemblies as access to the SYS-LINK solder pads is easier and the solder connections can be made with the circuit assemblies in place. · REMOVE THE KNOB CAPS: Pull off the knob caps from Group 1 channel only. Then invert the console and place it on its front. · ` REMOVE THE CONSOLE BASE : Refer to fig. [. . . ] Then invert the console and place it on its front. · ` REMOVE THE CONSOLE BASE : Refer to fig. 7. REMOVE THE BLANKING PLATE : The blanking plate is located below the input connectors on the rear panel of channels 9 to 16. Unscrew the retaining screws and remove the blanking plate. ' DISCONNECTING THE HARNESS ASSEMBLIES: Disconnect the MAIN HARNESS (A) plugged into the connectors mounted along the edge of the circuit boards. Then disconnect the 16 way MASTER HARNESS (B) from the GROUP circuit board assemblies but not from the MASTER CONNECTOR circuit board assembly (C). Disconnect the flexible flat cables (D) plugged into the GROUP and LEFT circuit boards. Check the harnesses are correctly aligned onto the circuit board connectors with pin 1 aligned with the red stripe of the ribbon harness. 14 REFIT THE BASE : fig. Turn the console the correct way up and fit the pot nuts and knobs to GROUP 1. 15 PLUG ON THE INTERCONNECTING CABLES: SYS-LINK connectors are 25way D-type female. Standard cables are available from electronic suppliers or computer shops. When connecting to equipment other than the GL Series link all unused audio inputs to 0V earth at the SYS-LINK input. 16 TEST THE SYSTEM: Test all SYS-LINK inputs and outputs for correct signal level and quality by probing the D-connector pins or by interconnecting two consoles with SYS-LINK fitted.
