Detailed instructions for use are in the User's Guide.

[. . . ] Plug connection (for United Kingdom only) If a 3-pin 13 amp fused plug is used, it should be fitted with a 3 amp fuse; with other plug types, the circuit should contain a 5 amp fuse. Warning - This Appliance must be earthed. IMPORTANT MOULDED-ON PLUG WITH FUSE (for United Kingdom only) The mains lead is fitted with a nonrewirable moulded-on 13 amp plug containing a 3 amp fuse. If the fuse requires replacing at any time, the fuse cover/carrier should be removed using a small screwdriver to lever it out. The old fuse should be replaced by a 3 amp ASTA approved BS1362 fuse and the fuse cover/carrier must be refitted before the plug is used again. [. . . ] Depending on the ambient temperature, service life, and quantity and temperature of the refrigerated items, the temperature inside the refrigerator can drop to below 0ºC when the thermostat is set at 7 (maximum cooling capacity). If the ambient temperature is very high, the cooling capacity decreases. This does not mean than the appliance is defective. USING THE REFRIGERATOR The refrigerator provides sufficient storage space for food, milk, drinks etc. The shelves on the inside of the door are suitable for bottles, tins and small packets. The un-refrigerated space above the cooling compartment can be used for storing glasses and snacks. All food should be stored in its original packaging or in closed containers. In this way food remains moist, odours do not form and neither does excess ice form on the cooling unit. Allow hot food and drink to cool down before placing them in the refrigerator. The temperature in the freezer section of the unit is set at - 12ºC. Frozen products can be stored here for short periods (please follow the instructions on the packet very carefully!) Do not keep any easily combustible substances such as ether, petrol, adhesive, propane gas etc. in the refrigerator, it could explode! ICE CUBES Fill the ice-cube container to 4/5 with potable water. Wipe off any excess water to prevent the ice tray from freezing to the surface. To speed up the making of ice cubes, turn the thermostat to position 7 for a short while. Remember to turn the dial to its normal setting when the ice cubes are frozen. Remove the lid with the ice cubes from the ice tray and the ice cubes can now be taken out easily. CARE AND MAINTENANCE Defrosting Frost will gradually form on the cooling surfaces and it must not be allowed to become too thick since it impairs the cooling efficiency of the refrigerator. A552 model To defrost turn the thermostat dial to 0 remove the ice tray and leave the cabinet and frozen food storage compartment door open. 4 The frost will melt and run into the drip collector which should be located underneath the frozen food storage compartment. When defrosting is complete, remove the drip collector and turn the thermostat dial to its normal setting. Rinse out the ice tray, refill it with fresh water and place it on its shelf. Some drips of water may come from the cooling fins during normal operation. A300 model Defrosting of the frost built up on the evaporator should be started with pushing in the push button in the middle of the thermostat knob. The defrost water is automatically evaporated by the heat generated by the appliance. After defrosting is completed, cooling will automatically be started again. [. . . ] If after checking all the above points, the refrigerator is still not working satisfactorily, contact your nearest service engineer. (Details of the model and product number are to be found on the data label in the top left of the inside compartment. ) This refrigerator is equipped with overheating protection. An authorised service technician can check whether this has been triggered or not. INPORTANT ADVICE Do - make sure that drinks and food, particularly those with a strong smell, are closed tightly or well packed; - close the door properly after use. The door should only be left open a little when the refrigerator is switched off; Do not - use sharp objects to remove the frost layer or free the ice tray, - obstruct the airflow on or above the cooling unit, - put any hot or warm food/drinks into the refrigerator - allow them to cool down first Sodium chromate is used for corrosion protection (less than 2 weight % of the coolant).
