Negating an array creates a new array containing the negative of each of the original elements. Negating a binary number takes its two's complement (complements each bit and adds 1). Negating a graphics object "inverts" it (toggles each pixel from on to off, or vice-versa). If the argument is PICT, the graphics object stored in PICT is inverted. NEWOB has two main uses: NEWOB enables the purging of a library or backup object that has been recalled from a port. NEWOB creates a new, separate copy of the object in memory, thereby allowing the original copy to be purged.
