If you are unsure whether the computer is off or in Hibernation, turn the computer on, and then shut it down through the operating system. Disconnect the power from the computer by first unplugging the power cord from the AC outlet and then unplugging the AC adapter from the computer. The tabs are located between the esc and f1 keys, between the f4 and f5 keys, between the f8 and f9 keys, and between the f12 and scroll keys. Release the zero insertion force (ZIF) connector (1) to which the keyboard cable is attached and disconnect the keyboard cable (2) from the system board. 8. Remove the keyboard. Reverse this procedure to install the keyboard. Remove the memory module (2) by pulling the module away from the slot at an angle. NOTE: Memory modules are designed with a notch (3) to prevent incorrect installation into the memory module slot. Reverse this procedure to install the internal memory module. RTC battery NOTE: Removing the RTC battery and leaving it uninstalled for 5 or more minutes causes all passwords and CMOS settings to be cleared.
