ENWW Order ink cartridges 69 To disable the usage information function 1. Touch Off to disable the collection of usage information. NOTE: To turn the usage information function on, restore the factory defaults. For more information about how to restore the defaults, see Restore defaults and settings. NOTE: You can continue to use the cartridge in the HP printer if you turn off the memory chip's ability to collect the printer's usage information. Ink cartridge warranty information The HP cartridge warranty is applicable when the product is used in its designated HP printing device. This warranty does not cover HP ink products that have been refilled, remanufactured, refurbished, misused, or tampered with. During the warranty period the product is covered as long as the HP ink is not depleted and the end of warranty date has not been reached. Before you begin Ensure the following: ● ● ● The printer is not connected to the network using an Ethernet cable. The printer and the computers that use the printer are on the same network (subnet). While connecting the printer, you might be prompted to enter the wireless network name (SSID) and a wireless password. ● ● The wireless network name is the name of your wireless network. The wireless password prevents other people from connecting to your wireless network without your permission. Depending on the level of security required, your wireless network might use either a WPA passphrase or WEP key. If you have not changed the network name or the security passkey since setting up your wireless network, you can sometimes find them on the back or side of the wireless router. If you cannot find the network name or the security password or cannot remember this information, see the documentation provided with your computer or with the wireless router. If you still cannot find this information, contact your network administrator or the person who set up the wireless network. ENWW Set up the printer for wireless communication 71 Set up the printer on your wireless network Use the Wireless Setup Wizard from the printer control panel display to set up wireless communication. Before you proceed, go through the list at Before you begin. From the printer control panel, touch Setup. Follow the display instructions to complete the setup. If you are already using the printer with a different type of connection, such as a USB connection, follow the instructions in Change the connection type to set up the printer on your wireless network. Change the connection type After you have installed the HP printer software and connected the printer to your computer or to a network, you can use the software to change the connection type (for example, from a USB connection to a wireless connection). NOTE: Connecting an Ethernet cable turns off the wireless capability of the printer. To change from an Ethernet connection to a wireless connection (Windows) 1. For more information, see Set up the printer on your wireless network. To change from a USB connection to a wireless network (Windows) Before you proceed, go through the list at Before you begin.
