This booklet has important information you must know about the OneTouch® UltraSmart® Blood Glucose Monitoring System. A long-term study showed that keeping blood glucose levels close to normal can reduce the risk of diabetes complications by up to 60%. Do Not perform a test until the meter and test strips reach a temperature within the operating range (43­111°F/6­44°C). Perform the test after the meter and test strips have reached a temperature within the operating range. 55 PROBLEMS AND POSSIBLE CAUSES If the meter does not turn on after inserting a test strip or the display is not active: POSSIBLE CAUSES No power. WHAT TO DO Repeat the test with a new test strip and a larger sample, making sure blood is placed to the narrow channel in the top edge of the test strip.
