All existing data, including protected pictures, are erased when the internal memory or the card is formatted. While in use, make sure that you transfer important data to a PC before formatting the internal memory or a card. Make sure not to erase important data when formatting the internal memory or the card. · To format the internal memory, do not insert the card. · To format the card, insert the card before starting formatting. · Before using non-Olympus cards or cards which have been formatted on a PC, you must format them with this camera.
