If you go back to the preceding title by pressing q, the DVD Receiver locates the first chapter of the title. When "Title Stop" is set to "On, " you can locate consecutive chapters only within the current title. · If you select the chapter or track during pause (while in still mode), you need to press s to start playback. Time 1:25:30 Note If the location time you enter exceeds the total playing time of the disc, the setting will be cancelled. 3 Press s. The DVD Receiver starts playback from the entered location. Point the remote controller directly toward the TV when you want to operate this equipment. To operate the Onkyo MD recorder No z connection is needed. Point the remote controller directly toward the MD recorder when you want to operate this equipment. Operating the Onkyo cassette tape deck First, connect the cassette tape deck to the DVD Receiver with the z cable (see page 16). Point the remote controller toward the DVD Receiver when you want to operate this equipment. TV Press MODE TV first. Press MODE TA/MD first. You can program the TV remote control buttons' signals to the buttons shadowed in the illustration below. Note If you turn on the SPEAKERS B system, the SPEAKERS A system also reproduces stereo sound automatically. (The listening mode is set to "Stereo. " See page 38. ) Even if you turn off the SPEAKER B system later, the listening mode remains to "Stereo" until you select another listening mode. Adjusting the Volume The volume of the front left and right, center, surround left and right, and subwoofer speakers will be adjusted at the same time. When headphones are connected (see next page), you can adjust the volume of the sound through the headphones. Operating with the remote controller Press VOL / . The lit SP A and SP B indicators indicate the corresponding speaker systems are On. SP A B VOL Operating with the remote controller SP A Operating with the unit MASTER VOLUME 7 Press SP A to turn on or off the SPEAKERS A system. Turn MASTER VOLUME clockwise to increase the volume, or counterclockwise (anticlockwise) to decrease the volume. SP B +10 -- / --- Press SP B to turn on or off the SPEAKERS B system. Muting the Sound Note It is impossible to turn off both speakers at the same time. Remote controller only MUTING Operating with the unit SPEAKER A/B Press MUTING. "Muting" appears in the multipurpose display for about three seconds. Also the MUTING indicator flashes in the display during the muting mode. MUTING Press SPEAKER A/B repeatedly. [. . . ] · It is in fast forward or fast reverse playback. 23, 9 24 Playback doesn't follow the course of the disc's programs. The picture from the DVD Receiver doesn't appear on the TV screen. No sound is reproduced. · The DVD Receiver is in repeat playback mode, memory playback mode, or random playback mode, etc. · The TV is not set to receive the output signals from the DVD Receiver.
