Speaker setting and distance setting
Set the ED-301 properly for your speaker system. If your ED-301 is connected to an A/V amplifier with 5. 1-channel audio input, also perform speaker setting on the A/V amplifier.

Speaker setting
Set one of the following parameters for each speaker type. For a typical speaker system with six speakers, set "LARGE/SMALL" or "YES" for all speaker types. Set this parameter if the connected speaker(s) can cover the bass range. SMALL Set this parameter if the connected speaker(s) cannot cover the bass range. YES Set this parameter if you connect a center speaker, surround speakers, or a subwoofer. NONE or NO Set this parameter if there is no speaker connected to that channel and output is to be made to other speakers. Available combination of setting for each speaker type Speaker type

Press SPEAKER repeatedly to select the speaker type for the speaker you are setting and then press PARAMETER CONTROLLER repeatedly to select the parameter you want to set. Indicator for speaker(s) being set
When the setting for the current speaker type has been done, press SPEAKER and the speaker indicator(s) for the next speaker type will blink. You will get out of the speaker setting mode if the speaker setting operation is interrupted for 3 seconds or longer. To return to the speaker setting mode in this case, press the SPEAKER button again.

Press DISTANCE repeatedly to select the speaker type for which you are setting the distance and then press PARAMETER CONTROLLER to display the parameter you want to set. Each time you press the DISTANCE button, the speaker indicator(s) that is blinking changes as follows. The distance setting can be adjusted in units of 1 foot (0. 3 meter). L/R: Set the actual distance from listening position to L/R Front speaker position, within the range of 1 - 30 feet (0. 3 - 9. 0 meters). [. . . ] This unit contains a sensitive microcomputer, which under certain circumstances might fail to operate due to excessive noise interference. In such an event, disconnect the main plug from your electrical outlet and replace it after 5 seconds.
