If [HOME] is already set, change only the travel destination, and use. If you cannot find the travel destination in the areas displayed on the screen, set by the time difference from the home area. The higher the numbers of pixels, the finer the picture will be when it is printed on a large piece of paper or displayed on a PC monitor. Pictures may appear mosaic depending on the subject and the recording conditions. Refer to P140 for information about the number of recordable pictures. - 79 - Advanced (Recording pictures) [SENSITIVITY] For details on [REC] Mode menu settings, refer to P21. Setting to a higher figure enables pictures to be taken even in dark places without the resulting pictures coming out dark. Applicable modes: [ ]/[80]/[100]/[200]/[400]/[800]/[1600] ISO sensitivity Recording location (recommended) Shutter speed Noise 80 When it is light (outdoors) Slow Less 1600 When it is dark Fast Increased Note When setting to [ ], the camera detects movement of the subject and then sets the optimal ISO sensitivity and shutter speed according to movement and brightness of the subject. To avoid picture noise, we recommend that you either reduce the ISO sensitivity level or set [COLOR MODE] to [NATURAL], and then take pictures. (P86) The ISO sensitivity automatically changes between [ISO1600] and [ISO6400] in [HIGH SENS. ] in Scene Mode. - 80 - Advanced (Recording pictures) [WHITE BALANCE] For details on [REC] Mode menu settings, refer to P21. In sunlight, under incandescent lights or in other such conditions where the color of white takes on a reddish or bluish tinge, this item adjusts to the color of white which is closest to what is seen by the eye in accordance with the light source. Applicable modes: n [AWB]: Automatic adjustment [V]: []: []: []: []: When taking pictures outdoors under a clear sky When taking pictures outdoors under a cloudy sky When taking pictures outdoors in the shade When taking pictures under incandescent lights Value set by using [] []: Set manually Note The Optimal White Balance will differ depending on the type of halogen lighting being recorded under so use [AWB] or []. The White Balance setting is memorized even if the camera is turned off. (However, the White Balance setting for a Scene Mode returns to [AWB] when the Scene Mode is changed. ) In the Scene Modes listed below, White Balance is fixed to [AWB]. [SCENERY]/[NIGHT PORTRAIT]/[NIGHT SCENERY]/[FOOD]/[PARTY]/[CANDLE LIGHT]/ [SUNSET]/[FLASH BURST]/[STARRY SKY]/[FIREWORKS]/[BEACH]/[SNOW]/ [AERIAL PHOTO]/[FILM GRAIN] - 81 - Advanced (Recording pictures) Auto White Balance Depending on the conditions prevailing when pictures are taken, the pictures may take on a reddish or bluish tinge.
