[. . . ] Allow to cool before putting on or taking off parts and before cleaning the appliance. Do not operate any appliance with a damaged cord or plug or after the appliance malfunctions, or it dropped or damaged in any manner. The use of accessory attachments not recommended or sold by the appliance manufacturer may cause hazards. [. . . ] Prepare additional sandwiches if desired while the others are cooking. For soft or liquid sandwich fillings use medium sliced bread, light or dark. A teaspoon of sugar sprinkled on the outside makes toasted sandwiches crispier (especially with fruit fillings. CLEANING · Before cleaning, unplug and wait for the unit to cool. · Wipe the inside and the edges of the plate with paper tower or a soft cloth. · Wipe the outside with only a slightly moistened cloth ensuring that no moisture, oil or grease enter the cooling slots. · Do not clean the inside or outside with any abrasive scouring pad or steel wood as this will damage the finish. A short power supply cord (or detachable power supply cord) is provided to reduce the risk resulting from becoming entangled in or tripping over a longer cord. Longer detachable power supply cords or extension cords are available and may be used if care is executed in their use. If longer detachable power supply cords or extension cords are to be used: (1) the market electrical rating of the cord set or extension cord should be at least as great as the electrical rating of the appliance; (2) if the appliance is of the grounded type the extension should be a grounding-type 3-wire cord; and (3) a long cord should be arranged so it will not drape over the counter top or table top where it can be pulled down by children or tipped over unintentionally.
