Adjusting the eyepieces The distance between your eyes is called interpupillary distance. It is important to adjust the binoculars to your interpupillary distance before use. To do this, hold the binoculars firmly in the normal viewing position and adjust the barrels by pushing them together or pulling them apart until you see a single circular field with both eyes.
