Setting up the oven
WARNING!The heat radiating from the oven is sufficiently strong to ignite inflammable objects nearby. – The oven must not be installed directly underneath a cupboard or shelf. A sufficient minimum clearance from any appliance, overhang, ceiling or other object must be maintained. 1 2 3 Description/Function Indicator lamp (lit while the oven is switched on) Temperature control (100 – 230 °C) 5-position switch • OFF Upper heat • Upper heat with rotary spit • Upper and lower heat • Lower heat • Timer (01:00 – 60:00 mins)
Ensure sufficient ventilation around the unit at all times. The appliance should therefore be set up at a site which meets the following requirements: • near an earthed safety socket (minimum fuse protection 10 A), • • • positioned horizontally and protected from shock and vibration, heat-proof, well away from any heated or inflammable surfaces and objects (> 1 m)
The following minimum clearances from any wall or other object must be maintained: • Sides: 12 cm • • Rear: Top: 12 cm 30 cm
Using the oven for the first time
Preparing food in the oven
WARNING!Food residues in the interior become very hot and may burn, especially when the food has a high fat content. Ensure that the interior, especially the heating elements, and all accessory parts are free from food residue. Clean any contamination as described in Chapter 7 'Cleaning the toast oven'. Should any smoke be detected, the oven must be switched off immediately: simply turn the 5-position switch to its (OFF) position. GB
Before using the toast oven for the first time with food, it must be operated empty once, ie without any food. Slide the baking rack or tray into one of the guide slots and close the door. HINT: You can also prepare two dishes at the same time by putting the baking rack and tray into different slots. Ensure that the crumb tray is properly installed below the two lower heating elements. Depending on the recipe, it may be necessary to pre-heat the oven before the actual cooking process. If the cooking instructions do not specifically require pre-heating, omit steps 4 - 6. While cooking: check frequently on the degree of browning through the oven window. If satisfied with the result, turn the 5-position switch back to its (OFF) position. Otherwise wait until the pre-programmed time has elapsed, and the acoustic signal is heard. Danger of burns: The oven, baking rack and tray are still very hot after use. [. . . ] Disposal of the oven
Devices marked with this symbol must be disposed of separately from your household waste, as they contain valuable materials which can be recycled. Your local authority or retailer can provide information on the matter. GB
