TOC Table of Contents Back Forward On-Line User's Guide VIDEO OUTPUT OPTIONS Some versions of the VELOCITY 4400 card have video outputs. These video outputs are optional equipment and may not be included on your card. The Composite Video Output Connector (RCA jack) on the mounting bracket of the VELOCITY 4400 adapter allows you to use a standard television set as the monitor for your computer. The output of this connector is in the standard NTSC format for video line signals. To maintain compatibility with the NTSC standard, the output of this connector supports resolutions of 640x480 and 800x600 at a refresh rate of 60Hz. The S-Video Output Connector (Mini-DIN jack) on the mounting bracket of the adapter allows you to connect a television set that is compatible with the S-Video format to use as your computer's monitor. The S-Video format also supports resolutions of 640x480 and 800x600 at 60Hz. While your computer is booting up it attempted to detect the monitor that is attached to the Monitor Connector of the adapter. If it detects no monitor attahced, then it will automatically enable both of the other video output connectors, delivering the computer's output for display on your television set. The video connectors can also be enabled or disabled through software. Please refer to Section 3, TV Output Controls, for more information on controlling these outputs. REFRESH RATE OPTIONS The STBVISION 98 display drivers provide you with direct control of the vertical refresh rates used in Windows graphical environment. Your DOS-based programs, can use the VELOCITY4400 card's VBE 3. 0 support to automatically select the display modes and refresh rates they require.
