After unpacking, make sure that the appliance is undamaged and that the door closes properly. Any damage must be reported to your dealer within 24 hours after delivery of the appliance. Wait at least two hours before switching the appliance on in order to ensure the refrigerant circuit is fully efficient. [. . . ] Notes: • It takes 4-5 hours before the refrigerator compartment temperature is suitable for food storage. • The ambient temperature, frequency of door opening and position of the appliance can affect the temperatures inside the two compartments. Take these factors into consideration when setting the thermostat knobs. • The space between the shelves and the rear wall of the refrigerator compartment must be unobstructed to allow circulation of air. • Do not place food in direct contact with the rear wall of the refrigerator compartment. • Storing vegetables with a high water content can cause condensation to form: this will not affect the correct operation of the appliance. 41 60802024GB. fm Page 42 Monday, October 2, 2006 4:31 PM How to use the refrigerator compartment Position the food as shown in the figure. To change the temperature setting, press the buttons (8) or (9) on the control panel until obtaining the required value. Temperature selection limit: • +2 °C coldest temperature • +8 °C warmest temperature Fast Cooling Function (Party or Super) This function is recommended when placing a considerable amount of food in the refrigerator compartment. Cooling of the food inside the refrigerator compartment can be speeded up by pressing the button (15). The yellow led (14) comes on and automatically goes off after 6 hours. The “Fast Cooling” function can be inhibited manually by pressing the same button. Switching off the refrigerator Press the button (5) for more than 2 seconds. The temperature shown on the display (7) switches off and the green LED (6) comes on. To reactivate refrigerator operation, press the same button (5) again for more than 2 seconds. Refrigerator compartment alarms The acoustic alarm is activated when the door has been left open for more than 1 minute. If the door is left open for another minute, the inside light will start flashing; it will switch off 10 minutes after initial door opening, whereas the acoustic alarm will continue to sound. Pressing the Acoustic Alarm button (11) will mute the acoustic signal, whereas the inside light will continue as described above. To cancel the door open alarm completely, close the refrigerator door. Control panel lock In order to avoid accidental selections (buttons being pressed by contact with packets and/or food, or by children) it is possible to lock the control panel by simultaneously pressing buttons (13) and (15) for 3 seconds; an acoustic signal confirms the function has been selected. With the “Control Panel Lock” function activated, the entire control panel will be locked except for button 11 (alarm reset). An acoustic signal will sound and the message “CL” will appear on the freezer temperature display whenever and for the entire time a key is pressed. [. . . ] Press button (5) again for 3 seconds to switch the refrigerator back on. Note: If the compartment is not used for prolonged periods, it is advisable to leave the refrigerator door open to prevent the formation of mould, odours and oxidation.
