[. . . ] Thicker cuts and unevenly shaped pieces of meat, fish and poultry may cook better at lower broiling temperatures. The oven vent should not be blocked or covered since it allows the release of hot air and moisture from the oven. blocking or covering vents will cause poor air circulation , affecting cooking and cleaning results. Do not set plastics, paper or other items that could melt or burn near the oven vent. (on some models) The ACCUBAKE® system electronically regulates the oven heat levels during preheat and bake to help maintain a precise temperature range for optimal cooking results. Before baking and roasting, position racks according to the "Positioning Racks and Bakeware" section. When roasting, it is not necessary to wait for the oven preheat conditioning time to end before putting food in unless it is recommended in the recipe. The bake range can be set between 170°F and 500°F (77°C and 260°C). The bottom of the pan may be lined with aluminum foil for easier cleaning. Drippings will bake on the pan if left in the heated oven, making cleaning more difficult. It is not necessary to preheat the oven before putting food in unless it is recommended in the recipe. Position food on grid in the broiler pan, then place it in the center of the oven rack. The broil range can be set between 300°F and 500°F (149°C and 260°C). For best results, place food 3" (7 cm) or more from the broil element. Times are guidelines only and may need to be adjusted for individual tastes. Recommended rack positions are numbered from the bottom (1) to the top (5). When the set cook time ends, the oven will shut off automatically and "End" will appear on the display. On combination oven models, the upper oven will not work during the Self-Cleaning cycle. On double oven models only, be sure to set the correct controls for the oven (upper or lower) you want to use. IMPORTANT: The health of some birds is extremely sensitive to the fumes given off during the Self-Cleaning cycle. Keep the kitchen well-ventilated during the Self-Cleaning cycle to help get rid of heat, odors, and smoke. depending on your model , see "Oven Vent" or "Oven Vents" section.
