[. . . ] Engaging/Disengaging VG-2 See option select mode to turn this feature on. In City Mode, weak speed/safety radar signals give an initial alarm of two beeps, and then the unit remains quiet unless the signal becomes very strong. When the signal strength increases, two additional beeps are provided. · Press (Power/Play) to exit. 14 15 1670LD manual 4/11/02 11:48 AM Page 19 OPERATION Memo Mode Record up to 3 distinct message tracks for a total of 45 seconds, one 45 second message or any combination in between. IMPORTANT: Unit does not detect radar or laser signals during recording or while playing a memo. You should not use any device in a vehicle that may distract you from observing the road ahead. To record or play a message (Memo mode): · Press (Volume Up) and (Volume Down) buttons simultaneously and release. The unit will beep twice while flashing the X & V/L icons; this enters Memo mode. Display shows: OPERATION · Press and release the (Quiet/Record) button to begin a recording. Display shows: Blinking If the recording time expires for a track, the unit will automatically switch to the next track. To play a message: · Enter Memo mode and press (Power/Play) to listen to recorded messages. · To play a selected track, press (Volume Up) or (Volume Down) button until selected track appears on the display. Display shows: II = Track 2 Selected · Press the (Power/Play) button. Messages are kept in memory and are not affected by resetting the factory features. To delete a message: · Enter Memo mode and press (Volume Up) or (Volume Down) button until selected track appears on the display. · Press the (Quiet/Record) button twice. 16 17 1670LD manual 4/11/02 11:48 AM Page 21 OPERATION To exit Memo mode: · Press (Volume Up) or (Volume Down) buttons simultaneously and release. NOTE: Memo mode automatically exits within 20 seconds if a button is not pressed. Vehicle Battery Saver Mode The Vehicle Battery Saver Mode automatically shuts off your detector within 6 hours if you forget to turn it off. The timer is reset if the detector is turned off, unplugged or any button is pressed before the 6 hours have expired. The detector will alert you with an audible and visual warning before it shuts off. Display shows: Blinking During this warning you can momentarily reset the unit by pressing any button. If the unit has automatically turned itself off, press the (Power/Play) button to turn the unit back on. You can manually engage the Vehicle Battery Saver Mode by pressing and holding the City button until one beep is heard. RADAR ALERTS Speed Radar Audio/Visual Alerts When X, K or Ka is detected the band ID and signal strength is displayed. [. . . ] Service Under Warranty During the warranty period, defective units will be repaired or replaced (with the same or a comparable model), at Whistler's option, without charge to the purchaser when returned prepaid, with dated store receipt to the address below. Units returned without dated proof of purchase will be handled as described in section "Service Out Of Warranty. " Due to the specialized equipment necessary for testing a radar/laser receiver, there are no authorized service stations for Whistler brand detectors other than the factory. When returning a unit for service under warranty, please follow these instructions: 1.
